Who builds the evening

One crew and one truck.

Acean Dafter produces themed evenings and team games at the venue chosen by the client. We do not run a venue of our own: we arrive with the kit, the crew and a written running order, and we leave once the room is empty. Our warehouse is in Tadoussac.

Event warehouse interior: numbered flight cases, folded tables against a wall, LED fixtures lined up on stands.

How the work runs

Seven steps. Quote to write-up.

  1. 01

    Enquiry

You send the date, the place and the number of guests. We answer within one working day, starting with whether the date is free.

  2. 02

    Written offer

Contents, crew, build schedule, final amount, payment terms. Nothing is agreed verbally.

  3. 03

    Site visit

On site, or by video call beyond 150 km. We measure access, power and clear height.

  4. 04

    Signature and deposit

A 35 % deposit: the date is held from that point, not before.

  5. 05

    Final running order

Ten days before the evening: schedule to the half hour, team composition, list of contacts on site.

  6. 06

    The evening

Build, technical rehearsal, hosting, strike. A floor manager owns the schedule and stays reachable.

  7. 07

    Write-up

The next day: the standing, the photos if there are any, and what we would change next time.

Principles

What we do not negotiate on.

  • Everything announced is measurable: dimensions, counts, duration, power.
  • The price is written before the evening and does not move afterwards, unless you add something in writing.
  • An enquiry is not a booking, and we say so at every exchange.
  • No gambling: chips and credits stay props for the evening.
  • Access to the tables and the cabinets is limited to people aged 18 and over.
  • If we cannot meet a venue requirement, we say so before signing.

Roles in the room

Who does what, on the night.

  • Floor management

Holds the schedule, talks to the venue and the caterer, decides on the shifts. This is the person you call.

  • Dealers

Open the tables, explain the rules, keep the points. One dealer per eight-seat table.

  • Hosting and games

Run the investigations, hand out the hint cards, adjudicate the answer grid.

  • Actors

On the flagship programme: they carry the story, not the microphone.

  • Technical

Sound, light, power, cabling. A technician stays at the desk all evening.

  • Logistics

Loading, build, strike, return inventory. The crew that arrives first and leaves last.

We publish no names and no photographs of the crew: the people assigned to your evening are named in the final running order, ten days before the date.

Who does what

Our side. Yours.

Our side

  • Kit, crew, sound, light, running order, insurance on our equipment
  • Build and strike at the hours written into the offer
  • Transport within 150 km of Tadoussac

Your side

  • The venue and its permissions, the heating, the security
  • Food, drink, table service, liquor licence
  • Guest lists, invitations, seating plan

What this is, and what it is not

A production service.

  • Our evenings happen offline, in the room you have booked. You are paying for the production of an evening, not for a game.
  • Chips and credits are props. They cannot be bought, cannot be topped up, and cannot be exchanged for anything: not money, not goods, not vouchers, not prizes of value.
  • There are no stakes and no cash winnings. We run no online gambling service and promote none.
  • Access to the tables and the cabinets is limited to people aged 18 and over.
